Projet Home

Client:  Hétu

Lieu: Laval

Optimize storage volume through kitchen remodeling.

A large wall unit, housing the double refrigerator, hides motorized doors facilitating access to cabinets. The dining table juxtaposed with the work island saves the space normally dedicated to traffic. Thus, each cubic foot is maximized and offers vastness to the space.

CONCEPT & CHALLENGE

This residence, on the edge of Baron Lake, encourages the extension of nature into the interior due to its location in the middle of the forest. Fir, pine, cedar, ash, oak and teak blend well thanks to the mastery of species and their colour. Sometimes with a natural finish or complexion, their richness harmonizes in one place. At the entrance, exposed Douglas fir beams and columns support a bridge with a Western Canadian red cedar finish. The custom-designed teak bar and library are located alongside the bleached ash kitchen and stained oak furniture by designer Luigi Gorgoni. A brushed white oak floor unifies architecture and connects humans to the deep nature of wood. The caramel-coloured pine window frames a breathtaking view of the lake. Towards the private area the WC exhibits a natural teak mosaic. In the master suite a teak wall limits the bathroom to the teak furniture, the precious essence of the customers.

Enhance the interior spaces of a building with the Archimedes concept and its expansion with respect to its architecture.

The chic industrial style integrated with contemporary architecture is mastered by judicious choice of sober materials. The new section opens to nature and inspires with its wood floors and natural stone-like ceramics.

CONCEPT & CHALLENGE

Design a new residence according to the architects' guidelines.

The intent was to create a transition from the outside to the inside through its design, integrated furniture and choice of materials. Its richness comes from an old elm mounted on panels. The living area overlooks the living room and has a view of the forest. A huge mural accommodates a linear fireplace which leans against the gym overlooking an indoor pool. The master suite is equipped with a shower with an over-sized glass panel.

CONCEPT & CHALLENGE

Design a New York-inspired loft in a heritage building.

We updated plumbing and the kitchen to provide a larger and more functional space. The private entrance opens onto a desk area, which in turn opens onto a large kitchen. The dining room and living room have large windows overlooking a beautiful downtown park.  A master bathroom built on a podium and detached from the concrete structure offers two areas. A huge barn door closes the bedroom.

CONCEPT & CHALLENGE

Make a dining room user-friendly to offer the possibility of it becoming a quiet and serene study.

In order to have as few architectural interventions as possible, we installed two sliding doors between the existing wall and the custom-made bookcase. Having a depth of 22’’, it acts as a gate and gives the impression of being an integral part of the residence. A huge wenge wood imitation sliding door closes the corridor and gives privacy to the room. Judicious lighting completes the atmosphere.

CONCEPT & CHALLENGE

Design a bungalow from the 50’s without denaturing it.

Originally, the rooms were closed with a huge living room near the entrance. The space was redesigned and the house divided into two areas: living and private areas. The fireplace, the central element, is the focal point around which the family gathers. It is surrounded by the kitchen, living room and the new open access to the basement. The exterior walls were windowed for more light, especially in the dining room, or closed as in the master bedroom. The exterior is rejuvenated with new black windows and sandstone in order to retain the character of this unique residence.

Redesign a condo while retaining the placement of drains and water outlets.

In order to privatize the master bedroom, the condo was designed as suites. On the one hand, huge sliding glass doors close the family room connected to the secondary room. On the other, two French doors open onto a master bedroom with custom storage and a luxurious bathroom with heated floors and walls. With a timeless design, this one comes in shades of grey and beige.
